DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES

Supervises the functions and staff of the following human resource programs: Electronic Performance Assessment Review (e-PAR), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), workers' compensation, Training/Learning Management System. Handle all Department classification matters; provide technical information, advice and assistance to Division management and personnel; Research, interpret New Jersey Statutes Annotated (NJSA), New Jersey Administrative Code (NJAC) and Civil Service Commission (CSC) rules and regulations and agency policies and procedures and recommend appropriate course of action; Revise and develop Civil Service job specifications.

NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience. NOTE: The following experience at all levels, as a primary function, does not include the processing of personnel transactions, completion and checking of forms, filing, or data entry. Level 1 Ten (10) years of professional experience in a personnel or human resource management program, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. OR Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and six (6) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. OR Possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work Administration, Personnel Administration, Psychology, or Guidance and Counseling; and five (5) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
