DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES

Within the Office of Policy and External Affairs, the Policy and Legislative Advisor assists the Director of Policy and External Affairs on legislative priorities and policy developments, as well formulating policy strategies to support implementation of Department programs and initiatives. This role requires engagement with divisions to conduct legislative research, track and review legislative and regulatory issues relevant to the Department. The Policy and Legislative Advisor prepares analyses, reports and other materials for policy and research projects and provides assistance translating research into policy practice. This position works closely with government officials to address inquiries regarding specific department projects/programs, as well as consumer complaints for all divisions, with a concentration in Division of Housing and Community Resource matters.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree and Masters degree in public administration, government affairs or other related field of study. 2 years of professional experience working for a public agency or non-profit organization on legislative matters and/or public policy affairs.
